If being sexy is a crime, it’s no wonder George Basha is locked up in the prison flick Convict (2014). Not to be confused with the Polish TV series The Convict (2021-2024), this Australian pic follows Aussie-born soldier Ray Francis (Basha) fresh from the battlefields of Iraq. Not long after shedding his uniform, he finds himself grappling with a Ferrari-driving jerk who aimed a crude comment at his fiancée Kelly (Millie Rose Heywood). But when the soldier of fortune goes too far with his aggression, he is convicted of manslaughter. Since the charge carries an 18-month sentence, Ray winds up in prison where he encounters its corrupt Warden (David Field) as well as some tough correctional officers (Raid Abu-Ali, Alex Henderson, Goran Hristov). If that’s not bad enough, he must deal with gang members (Bradyn Pittman, Eli Roberts, Jesse Guivarra, Mahmood Sabra, Steve Ingram, Troy Pittman) trying to break him. Being the man that he is, Ray stands tall and fights to see another day — a day that will hopefully allow him to see Kelly again. Until then, we get to see Basha’s body in a proverbial prison shower scene. Just 24 minutes into the movie, he flashes his abs and ass while being propositioned by an incarcerated brute. Needless to say, Ray refuses to be an intimate inmate. Two minutes later, the guards hose him off (and not in a good way). The film says, “There’s only one rule in prison: watch your back.” Indeed, we like watching Basha’s backside!
