Dead Boy Detectives (2024-)

The 2024 Netflix original supernatural comedy series Dead Boy Detectives, based on the DC/Vertigo comic title of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, is a sly dig at the mystery genre. Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) and his mentor Edwin Paine (George Rexstrew), who both died young but chose to forego the afterlife and remain on earth solving murders to help restless souls find peace. Series creator Steve Yockey worked on both the long-running series Supernatural and the DC Comics series Doom Patrol, so partner that with the elaborately back-storied worlds of Neil Gaiman and you've got a good idea of what to expect from this one! 

Throw in a healthy dose of Riverdale gay baiting while you're at it as Lukas Gage turns up in episode two to go shirtless beneath a silk and fur coat in a bid at seducing George Rexstrew's Edwin! It definitely worked on us, keep going in this direction, Dead Boy Detectives!
