Lanterns (2026)

DC’s Green Lantern mythology gets a gritty HBO makeover in Lanterns, an eight-episode superhero crime drama that feels considerably more like True Detective than a traditional comic-book adventure. Kyle Chandler stars as veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan alongside Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, a former Marine being trained to eventually take Hal’s place as one of the intergalactic cops charged with protecting Earth. Hal and John investigate a violent incident in rural Rushville, Nebraska. Upon their arrival, they immediately butt heads with local sheriff Kerry Macon (Kelly Macdonald). Plus, they have front-row seats to the increasingly strange behavior from wealthy rancher William Macon (Garret Dillahunt) and his wife Zoe (Poorna Jagannathan). Spooky things happen in the middle of nowhere! Meanwhile, flash-forwards reveal that the investigation eventually ends very badly for Hal, turning the season into both a murder mystery and an explanation of how its heroes reached that point. We’re tuning in because the ultimate daddy, Garret Dillahunt, shows off his gorgeous body and hot dad ass in the show’s single nude scene. Forget Green Lantern, after seeing Garret, we want to watch Peen Lantern!
