Neill Blomkamp kept his socially conscious sci-fi film streak going with Elysium (2013), a dystopian thriller that takes place in the year 2154. Trading the xenophobia of District 9 (2009) for the effects of global warming and income inequality, the film takes place in a world where Earth has been ravaged by man’s greed and perversions, and the once thriving planet has become a noxious void of misery. The poor are left on the devastated and overpopulated planet, policed by ruthless and unforgiving robots. On the other end of the spectrum, the rich live on Elysium, a luxurious space station full of wealth and amenities, including Med-Bays, a medical devise the inhabitants use to keep them free of disease and injury. Needless to say, keeping the poor from illegally entering Elysium is a constant hassle for Defense Secretary Jessica Delacourt (Jodie Foster). Max da Costa (Matt Damon), a former burglar that lives in Los Angeles, where he works the assembly line at a military weapons complex is exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. With just days to live, he must find a way to get to the titular shelter to seek healing in the Med-Bays. Concurrently, since a hacker named Spider (Wagner Moura) thinks he knows how to break into Elysium's mainframe and make everyone on earth an Elysium citizen, Max’s life-saving mission to the Shangri-La space station could possibly bring equality and social justice back to mankind. It’s obvious that Matt Damon hit the weights for this film, because the handsome actor looks ripped and rocking when he removes his shirt in a couple of scenes, revealing his gym rat physique. His pecs are popping, his delts are huge, and he looks like an absolute badass with his shaved head. We’ve seen the future, and the future is abtastically delicious! Matt's body in Elysium will send you into a horniness induced delirium!
