Fantasmas (2024)

Comedian Julio Torres takes on writer, director, and lead actor responsibilities for HBO's star-studded surrealist series Fantasmas. Ostensibly it's about Julio Torres searching for his lost earring shaped like an oyster, but Fantasmas is about so much more than that. It's about the quirky people living on the fringes of New York City who Julio crosses paths with on his quest to find his golden oyster earring. Dare we say that Fantasmas is a love letter to New York City? We dare. Julio stays clothed, but he coaxes his stars out of their clothes and into some pretty risqué garments! Former teen heartthrob Dylan O'Brien can be found bulging out in bright red women's lingerie while Boy Radio gogo dances at a club in his tiny tighty-whities! Fantasmas also stars the likes of Julia Fox, Emma Stone, Paul Dano, and Euphoria actress Alexa Demie, making this one of the biggest television events of summer 2024. Fantasmas translates to ghost, and we think this series is the ghostest with the mostest.
