Mexican filmmaker Ernesto Contreras drew on his own grandmother's experiences as a Native Zapotec speaker when he made the quirky romantic dramedy I Dream in Another Language (2017). In the film, Martin (Fernando Alvarez Rebeil) is a linguist traveling the most remote parts of Mexico so that he can save the dying Indigenous languages. One day, he travels to the Veracruz Rainforests in hopes of saving a language called Zakril, that only two people speak. They're Isauro (Jose Manuel Poncelis) and Evaristo (Eligio Melendez), and they haven't spoken to each other in years. Why? Nobody knows, but the big rumor is they fell in love with the same woman and got into a big fight about it. That's wrong, though, since eventually Martin will find out they were secret lovers ashamed of being gay in a culture that doesn't accept homosexuality. Knowing the truth, can Martin get the former couple back on speaking terms in order to save Zakril? Well, when words can't correctly convey how one feels, getting physical is the best way to do it. In a flashback to when they spoke every day, the film shows a unique attraction between young Isauro and Evaristo via Juan Pablo de Santiago and Hoze Melendez. Juan clearly yearns for Hoze who is exploring his sexuality in many ways, including by flashing ass while boning a broad on the beach. That's likely just for show, since a bit later the two do eventually make out by a bonfire and then run into the ocean together. Now you're speaking our language! We will be dreaming about the young and lean teen dream and the hottie with a mustache for years to come! You'll cream in another tissue watching I Dream in Another Language
