Review

The Wound (2017) is an African film about the Xhosa initiation into manhood (starring all real Xhosa speaking actors). Xolani travels to the mountains with the men of his tribe to initiate a group of teenage boys into manhood. Xolani is played by Nakhane Toure and he has a budding and beautiful relationship with Bongile Mantsai. The two men make out and later make love, laying together side-by-side in the grass. Oh, to be a snake in that grass! Speaking of a snake, we do get a snippet of peen as the men stand up!
