As much as we appreciate the beefcakes who look like they live in the gym, there's something so sexy about your dude next door types. To that point, Jake M. Johnson is the kind of man you could imagine sharing a beer and a burger with, while enjoying some lively conversation. Then for dessert, who knows? Maybe some nakey Jakey? In so many words, double J comes across as a down-to-earth guy that’s easy on the eyes and even easier to get along with. Now, this is all just speculation based on his inviting smile, gregarious personality, and likeable persona. But Jake's no typical bro. He went to the University of Iowa, but transferred to NYU after a play he wrote won him a scholarship to the famed Tisch School of the Arts. After graduation, Jake headed to LA and did sketch comedy while landing some less than coveted roles like "guy on cellphone" in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and "Guayabera shirt man" in the jiu-jitsu drama Redbelt (2008). But Jake really hit it big with his breakthrough role in the Michael Cera starring quirky indie flick Paper Heart (2009). That one led to him landing the role that made him famous, the sarcastic Chi-town bartender Nick Miller on Fox's monster hit comedy New Girl. Officially a TV star, Jake continued to bring his comedic sensibilities and his guy-next-door hotness to the films Ceremony (2010), No Strings Attached (2011), 21 Jump Street (2012), and Drinking Buddies (2013), where he first took his shirt off onscreen. While we’d love to share a drink or two with Jake, we’d rather him share a look at his manly physique. Or share a bed with Jake and his snake. Thanks to the goofy comedy film Let’s Be Cops (2014), the alliterative named actor teased even more of his upper body while stripping out of his cop uniform for a gaggle of screaming gals. Take it off-icer! Jake moved on to Jurassic World (2015), played Randy in Tag (2018), and voiced Peter Parker in the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), but these days he's playing Doug on Minx, HBO Max's seventies set story of a feminist starting a nudie mag designed for women. We’re hoping that we’ll get a look at Jake’s Johnson!
