He also was nominated for Finding Neverland (2004) and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). The latter catapulted Depp into super stardom and a film franchise that spans from 2006 to 2011. Through the years, Johnny appeared in Jim Jarmusch’s Dead Man (1995); Terry Gilliam’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998); Roman Polanski’s The Ninth Gate (1999); Lasse Hallström’s Chocolat (2000); and Robert Rodriguez’s Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003). In Julian Schnabel’s Before Night Falls (2000), Johnny popped up in drag, complete with a wig and panty-clad cheeks! Following a shirtless turn in The Rum Diary (2011), the prolific performer paraded a prosthetic erection in Mortdecai (2015) which also includes a bath scene. For his part, Depp received a Golden Raspberry nomination, but Mr. Man would award him a Flesh Banana!
