Tall, dark, and hunkishly handsome Kyle MacLachlan was once described as “the boy next door, if that boy spent lots of time alone in the basement,” probably because of the reputation he earned for weirdness as the leading man in some of David Lynch’s most mind-blowingly surreal films. Kyle first worked with Lynch in the 1984 sci-fi epic Dune, where he played the messianic sand-worm riding Paul Atreides. You can ride our sand-worm any time, Kyle! In 1986, Kyle worked with Lynch again in the steamy noir thriller Blue Velvet, where he had kinky sex with Isabella Rossellini. Blue Velvet? More like Blue Balls! In 1990, Kyle played keyboardist Ray Manzarek opposite Val Kilmer’s Lizard King in the Oliver Stone-helmed rock biopic The Doors. Talk about lighting my fire!
