Being around all that action gave Luke the belief he could make it in the movies himself, and he's proven himself correct. As an actor, Luke's first notable role came when he played Rhys Plaidy on a 2007 episode of McLeod's Daughter's, before he popped up in episodes of Rescue Special Ops and Rush. Luke even introduced himself to American audiences when he played Augie on HBO's WWII miniseries The Pacific. Luke's career really took off when he landed the recurring role of Lachie Clarke on the lottery winners drama Winners & Losers, and killed it as Michael Hutchence in Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS (2014).
