Biography

If you were into rap music in the first decade of the 2000s, you may know Miguel Gómez better by his musical alter ego, Aztek Escobar. He was the first artist signed by Jay Z’s label Roc La Familia, and was all set to release his debut album when the label fizzled out. Luckily, the Colombia-born, Texas-raised hottie has other talents, and shifted gears to acting. The gym-built babe made his acting debut playing Ramon on an episode of the side-splitting series Louie in 2012, then landed a part as Jake on the big screen in The Domino Effect (2012) and as Eugene in Bless Me, Ultima (2012). In 2014, he hit the big time when he was cast as Augustin “Gus” Elizalde in the FX series The Strain, a part he mastered from 2014-2017, and one in which he also regularly showed off his six (eight?) pack, stone pecs, and those V-lines Mr. Man likes oh-so very much. And we got to see all of that fine frame again, this time bigger, when he took on the role of Miguel “Magic” Escobar in the movie Southpaw (2015) with Jake Gyllenhaal. And yet again in SMILF from 2017-2019 when he played Rafi wrapped in a towel in the locker room. He played Ricky Leon in L.A.’s Finest in 2020, and he’s a bit more buttoned up as Special Agent Ivan Ortiz on FBI: Most Wanted from 2021-2022, but that’s okay. We know Aztek and his abs are still under those suits.
