Ms. Marvel (2022)

For the Pakistani-American teenager, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), she has grown up idolizing the superheros of the world, especially Captain Marvel. For Kamala though, she lives in a humdrum part of New Jersey, has normal teenager problems like crushing on cute boys such as Kamran (Rish Shah), failing her driver's test, and still having to go to high school.  Then this normal teenager finds out that she has some superpowers of her own and that's when bad guys and fellow heroes start coming out of the woodwork and Kamala ceases to be a normal teen and steps into her daydream persona of Ms. Marvel, in honor of her hero! Marvel comes to us again with another brilliant superhero origin story and this one comes with an amazing representation of the American-Muslim experience through the eyes of our hero.  We also get to see some skin from newbie and dishy dreamboat Rish Shah, as he shirtless puts a superhero level crush on Kamala as well as us when he jumps into the pool!
