Based off of the Pierre Boulle novel La Planète des Singes, the classic sci-fi flick Planet of the Apes (1968) follows astronauts Taylor (Charlton Heston), Landon (Robert Gunner), Dodge (Jeff Burton), and Stewart on their ill-fated journey through distance space. When the crew’s spaceship crashes on an unknown planet, devoid of any intelligent life, they're soon to come face to face with an unexplainable horror. Though Stewart doesn’t survive the crash, the other three bearded and hunky astronauts do some exploring and skinny-dipping. It’s all fun in the sun until they cross paths with human-like apes that can talk, think, reason, and kill, which they do to Landon. Wounded and penned up like an animal, Taylor captures the attention of ape leader Dr. Zaius (Maurice Evans) when he hears him speak. The handsome spaceman also earns the attention of Cornelius and Dr. Zira (Roddy McDowell and Kim Hunter), two sympathetic scientists who risk their lives for Taylor. Together, the unlikely trio discovers the secret of the planet, one that Dr. Zaius and his follows have attempted to hide. But it’s Taylor that’s in for the shock of his life when he lays his eyes on a familiar touristy landmark, leaving him prostrate, cursing out loud. You’ll be doing the same when you get a gander at Charlton Heston’s rump and privates during a tribunal meeting with the apes. Gunner and Burton bare it all during their splashy skinny dip. Mr. Man would love to get his damn, dirty hands on these guys!
