The sexy, Broadway dominating actor Reed Birney is a familiar face to film fans, but he's found most of his success on the stage. The Alexandria, Virginia born hunk has three OBies aka the off Broadway Tony, and one Tony Award for his work in The Humans. But since you can only pack so many humans into a theater, we're happy to report that the brawny Mr. Birney has been in all sorts of movies and TV shows, too. Reed got his start by starring in Martha Coolidge's drama Not a Pretty Picture (1976). Reed moved on to make a bunch of not so memorable movies like Four Friends (1981) and Chain Letters (1985), then spent the vast majority of the 90's doing theater and only the occasional episode of stuff like Tales From the Crypt and Another World. Things turned for the man married to Patti Mayonnaise aka Yoga Jones from Orange is the New Black aka Constance Shulman, around the early 2000's when Reed started landing recurring roles on huge TV shows. Maybe you spilled your seed to Reed when he was St. Jude's teacher Mr. Prescott on Gossip Girl, Minister Forsythe on Kings, Vice President Donald Blythe on House of Cards and US Attorney General Tom Connolly on The Blacklist. After playing Peter on Girls, Reed stuck with HBO for a rather revealing role on an episode of the weed delivery comedy High Maintenance. Reed plays a man named Leonard who is nude and locked out of his hotel room. He begs people to let him in their rooms - or hand him a towel - as he desperately tries to cover his cock and buns in a well-lit hotel hallway. Don't hide that hanger, Mr. Birney. We're high on looking at Reed's rod! You might have caught him playing Pop in The Hunt (2020), Vice President Dave Boyer on Succession, Simmons on Apple TV's Nova Vita or Sylvester Lisko on Apple TV's mystery series Home Before Dark. We're looking forward to seeing him in the hunt the rich people thriller The Menu (2022). Hopefully another sausage baring scene's on the menu.
