Born in Port Elizabeth (officially renamed Gqeberha) on the cape South Africa, Rob got his start in theatre before becoming one half of a comedy duo with Louw Venter and starring in the sketch comedy series The Most Amazing Show from 2006-2007. His first solo stand up comedy performance titled Rob van Vuuren is Rob van Wuren won him the Nando’s Breakthrough Act Award at the The National Arts Festival and he won the fifth season of the reality competition Strictly Come Dancing before co-hosting South Africa’s Got Talent for two years with Anele Mdoda. Since then he’s starred in a number of comedies including Copposites (2012), Van Der Merwe (2017), and the Tremors sequel Tremors: a Cold Day in Hell (2018). He’s also made a name for himself in the dramatic world, continuing his work in theatre in productions of Endgame, A Doll’s House, and Curse of the Starving Class, as well as being featured in the crime drama series Queen Sono (2020), the Jodie Foster film The Mauritan (2021) and the miniseries The Kingdom (2021). His recent role in the series Ludik may be our favorite though, as the sexy South African finally gives us a sudsy butt shot while getting out of a bathtub. We’re strictly coming in our pants!
