Australian actor Robert Taylor (not to be confused with the late American matinee idol of the same name) traveled a tough and bumpy road to get to Hollywood. While in the Land Down Under, the hardworking hunk was a miner, lifeguard, bouncer, and an oil rigger. After getting injured on the job, Rob decided to switch careers. As such, the emerging thespian trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Of course, Mr. Man would have given Mr. Taylor an honorary degree from Skin University! Early on, Robert appeared in TV movies (The Thorn Birds: The Missing Years, The Rocks, Steel Justice) and guest-starred on various shows (Blue Heelers, Flipper, Twisted Tales, Yellowthread Street) in his native country. The boob tube babe also played Nicholas Walsh on the soap opera Home and Away (1989); David Griffin in the miniseries The Feds (1993-1996); and Detective Sergeant Mick Foley on the crime drama Stingers (1999). Needless to say, he has a wide… range! Bob caught his big break when he was cast as Agent Jones alongside Keanu Reeves in the American blockbuster The Matrix (1999). Taylor proceeded to pop up in pics, including Ned Kelly (2003) starring Heath Ledger; Focus (2015) with Margot Robbie; and Kong: Skull Island (2017) featuring Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson. But we prefer the saucy Aussie as the titular sheriff on Longmire (2012-2017). The modern Western makes our south-of-the-border member go north whenever Bob bares his hairy chest and bulging briefs. Too bad we haven’t seen Robert’s Longmire!
