Needing only one name, like Madonna or Cher, Rotimi is a model and actor and a stud you should know. Born and raised in New Jersey, he graduated from Northwestern University in Illinois with a degree in communications and business, and set out to communicate via music. Specializing in contemporary R&B, he’s opened for Jennifer Hudson, T.I., and Estelle, with 50 Cent signing him to his label, G-Unit Records. His first single with the label was “Lotto,” and featured the coin-main himself. Meanwhile, his acting career launched with the regular role of Darius Morrison on the Starz series Boss from 2011-2012. And yes, that’s Rotimi playing the bad boyfriend in Keyshia Cole’s music video for “Trust and Believe” in 2013, too. The star hit the big screen for a role as Ezra in Divergent (2014), then pulled the part of Dre in another Starz hit, the series Power (produced in part by 50 Cent) from 2015-2020.
