February 14, hearts, chocolate… Nope. Too easy. Besides, there are so many other things to write about Scott Valentine, that Mr. Man feels confident he doesn’t need to rely on such an easy last name. And the best place to start? With a gorgeous head of hair, a flannel shirt, and some serious ear jewelry. Scott studied acting in college and was preparing for a big future when he got hit by a truck. It took him a few years to get well, but then pretty much right out of the gate, he got himself a gig on the hit series Family Ties, playing Mallory’s punk-ish boyfriend Nick. He was a rebel, but had a heart of gold, and made everyone who watched television from 1985-1989 swoon. So. Hot. In an ‘80s kind of way. With his popularity building up from run-ins with Alex P. Keaton, he nabbed a role as Peter in the film Deadtime Stories (1986), and that’s where his bare booty gets a little bit of screen time. It’s a good ass, and his showing of it did little to quell all our little heart’s desires. While a 1986 spin-off series featuring his Nick character failed, Scott continued on, starring as Kaz in the film My Demon Lover (1987). A big-screen career never really panned out, so after Family Ties, the Saratoga Springs, NY, native stuck to the little screen, becoming a staple on the made-for-TV movie scene. A few fabulous titles include Without Her Consent, After the Shock, and Dangerous Pursuit all in 1990; Perry Mason: The Case of the Fatal Framing (1992); and Out of Annie’s Past, The Best Defense, and Yakuza Connection, all in 1995. Scott nabbed the role of Det. Steve Rafferty in the series Black Scorpion in 2001, then slowly tapered off, doing only the occasional project here and there. At least we’ll always have those fingerless black gloves.
