Songs My Brothers Taught Me (2015) is a film by Oscar-winning writer and director Chloe Zhao about a young man who wants to leave his rural, indigenous life behind to move in with his girlfriend and get far away from his small town. His older brother is in jail and he lives with his single mom on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Unfortunately, his father dies and the family is left to grieve in a place where it is very hard to make a living and move on from a life of crime, drugs, and jail. He decides to go to Los Angeles, but his little sister does not want to be left alone in this harsh environment. Should he leave her behind to make a better life for himself? Or should he stay out of an obligation to his family and to his tribe? This is a tragic, moving story of a family living in a post-colonial America who feel left behind by the country that took from them. The film is about maintaining cultural identity while also trying to do better for yourself and for your family. This was Chloe's feature film debut. John Reddy plays Johnny Winters and he brings the heat when he is on top of his girlfriend and giving her a really good banging. Check out the star tattoo on his upper right shoulder and his smooth brown-skinned back and arms. We do not get to see his ass, but we can still sing his praises.
