Folk horror is a subgenre of horror that uses folklore, superstition, paganism, and rural elements to make us shake in our boots. A lot of these films have tropes of outsiders who are naive or ignorant of the local rituals which end up being their demise. The subgenre originally had a uniquely British and Celtic feel due to most of the original films in this subgenre are British.
Since the 1970s, the folk horror genre went to sleep for a few decades only to be reignited in the 2010s and around the world. Let's look at some of the best folk horror films with skintastic nudity.
You Won't Be Alone
This quiet Macedonian film really surprised me. It's an alluring slow-burn about witches, but it puts a unique spin on witch folklore by interpreting witches' evil as jealousy and desperation to feel human again. Because of those all-consuming feelings, the witches in this rural village turn into villains as they manipulate humans to see if that will make them feel anything again.
One way to feel something is by checking out the ass on Carloto Cotta. This is one yummy-looking man!
Men
Sci-fi director Alex Garland tried his hand at a modern folk horror film with Men. Men is a horror movie in which a woman vacations to a rural cabin for a little rest and relaxation only to find that she is in a town dominated by men. This is supposed to be a horror movie? It sounds like a dream to me! Even scarier is that the men in town are all Rory Kinnear. Again, that's not the worst thing when he goes full frontal like this:
The Feast
This underrated Welsh film is a pure folk horror flick. Filmed entirely in the Welsh language, the movie takes place in a rural manor where attendees of a special meal have no idea that this is going to be their last. A servant in the manor is planning devious revenge on the rich people who have been treating her terribly. I hope she doesn't harm the sexy Sion Alun Davies. He was kind enough to show his backsack!
The Lighthouse
Robert Eggers' entire filmography is folk horror (except for his upcoming Nosferatu, but I'm sure an argument can be made for that, too). He directed The Witch and The Northman, but The Lighthouse is our favorite for nudity. Robert Pattinson jerks off in the movie as he and Willem Dafoe slowly lose their minds to the elements while guarding a remote lighthouse. I lose my mind to this scene:
Midsommar
Ari Aster is one of the modern horror directors everyone is obsessed with! He made Hereditary and then he made this daytime horror flick about anthropology students who travel to Scandinavia to observe a Nordic cult one of their friends grew up in. Florence Pugh joins them as the girlfriend of one of the students, but the cult makes her feel more welcome than her neglectful boyfriend does. It's a twisted, disturbing film layered in folk elements.
The neglectful boyfriend is played by Jack Reynor who goes full frontal when a young lady in the cult tries to seduce him for a mating ritual. He is put under her smell and strips naked to mount her as a circle of nude old women stand around them and sing. This brightly lit horror film does not shy away from showing every part of Jack's jacked bod!
