Staff Picks: Real Gay Biopics

Our Staff Picks column is a new addition that takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version has a decidedly nude angle, as we suss out which films from a certain genre with great nudity. This week: biopics about gay people!

Biopics are great ways to get to know historical figures and biopics about gay people are great ways to see hot men go nude. These films are good biopics about real-life gay people and they also include some very sexy scenes. Check out the movies that highlighted the hottest gays in history and their gay antics. Happy Pride!

Wilde

Let's start with a wonderfully gay biopic about a wonderfully gay man: Oscar Wilde. Stephen Fry plays the witty Irish writer who learns that he is indeed gay. He finds this out by experimenting with loads of men...and their loads. Sadly, this all happened during the Victorian era in England. Poor Oscar Wilde was arrested for his lovemaking and sent to jail. Before he got locked up, he admired a young Jude Law from front to back.

Stephen Fry also gets Wilde with a young Michael Sheen. He unsheathes Michael's ass from his trousers and lets the fun begin! This ass must have inspired Oscar Wilde to write poetry.

Milk

The movie Milk detailed the heroic life of San Francisco politician Harvey Milk. The film was very successful and even won the Oscar for Best Screenplay. The 2008 film featured a nude Diego Luna as well as James Franco's ass when he swims naked in a pool. These scenes might make some milk in your pants!

Tom of Finland

Here's one of my favorites! This foreign film tells the story of the erotic gay artist known by the moniker Tom of Finland. He returns home to Finland after WWII and is disturbed by how homophobic his homeland is. He fights homophobia and feeds his curiosities and desires by taking very sexual photos of hot men! Pekka Strang plays Tom and shows a snippet of his pecker.

Gods and Monsters

Okay, there is no nudity in this movie. I will get that out of the way up top. That being said, it's really good and really creative and Brendan Fraser is HOT in this movie. He plays the young muse for James Whale. James Whale was the openly gay director of the famous horror films Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and Bride of Frankenstein among others. Ian McKellen plays him and his lust for Brendan's cum gutters perfectly.

Mapplethorpe

Here is another biopic about a suggestive gay artist. Robert Mapplethorpe was a moody photographer who was famously roommates with Patti Smith when the two were Just Kids in 1960s New York. After his bohemian days with his fellow artist bestie, Robert got more into men! He began depicting them in all of their glory through the magic of his lens.

Robert Mapplethorpe was best known for his fascination with BDSM-inspired and leather-clad images. Matt Smith plays Mapplethorpe who has numerous hot nude scenes, like this makeout with Thomas Philip O'Neill:
