The Advent Calendar (2021)

Advent calendars are supposed to be sweet. They are literally filled with sweets and treats as you countdown to Christmas with this old tradition. That's not quite the case in this 2020 horror film called - what else? - The Advent Calendar twists the tradition on its head. In this story by writer and director Patrick Ridremont, Eva is a former dancer who was injured and is now confined to a wheelchair. Her friend gives her an old wooden advent calendar so she can have a little bit of joy while she recovers from her injury and is currently unable to walk. Each window contains a surprise...but the surprise twist is that they trigger bad things in her real life. It's like a monkey's paw, but with more opportunities for terror and none of these are wishes. Eva realizes that it is possible she can walk again with this calendar, but that might cause a tragedy to someone around her. She has a tough decision to make: should she get rid of this gift or keep it and walk again? You will have to watch to find out! While she is busy with that decision, we are watching hot men like Vladimir Perrin who lays back in bed and bulges out in his black undies. His lady friend plays with that bulge like it's a treat just for her. Janis Abrikh plays a pool hunk who flirts with Eva and helps her out while wearing only his sexy speedo. Can we unwrap that package?
