The horror genre can often be seen packaged within a tight budget. As such, these B movies range from cheaply made creature features to indie slasher flicks. Yet despite the lack of funds, some of these pics have become cult classics from Ed Wood Jr.’s Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957) and George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (1968) to Dario Argento’s Suspiria (1977) and Sam Rami’s The Evil Dead (1981) with Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) in between. Since then, we’ve seen low-funded horror flicks such as Daniel Myrick’s The Blair Witch Project (1999) become box office hits. Alas, The Harrowing (2018) was neither a critical or financial success. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching since it offers some dudity! Under the pen and direction of Jon Keeyes, this thriller follows a man (Matthew Tompkins) who is haunted by the murder of his best friend. Since he’s a detective, he decides to solve the crime on his own yet becomes obsessed during the process. When he goes undercover, he discovers Hell might actually be on Earth and demons exist. You’ll see that horny little devils are real too — especially when Congressman Dunning (Steven Markel) appears in the nude just 10 minutes into the pic. That’s when he gets out of bed after having sex with a prostitute. The skintastic act showcases Mr. Markel’s bare back. If that’s not hot enough, he steams up the screen by flashing his ass. Nothing scary about that!
