Aftermath (2017)

Accounts of real life plane crashes account for the plots of lots of movies — from The Crash of Flight 401 (1978) to Society of the Snow (2023). In between, Mr. Man appreciated Ethan Hawke in Alive (1993), David Alan Basche in United 93 (2006), Tom Hanks in Sully (2016), and Arnold Swarzenegger in Aftermath (2017). Not to be confused with the British romance The Aftermath (2019), this American thriller showcases the Governator’s acting chops — as well as his awesome anatomy! Even though the names have been changed, this intense flick is based on actual people involved with the 2002 Überlingen mid-air collision of a passenger airliner and a cargo jet. As such, Arnold plays Vitaly Kaloyev, fictionalized as Roman Melnyk. He’s a father (and soon to be grandfather) who goes to pick up his wife and pregnant daughter from the airport only to learn their plane crashed into another due to a negligent air traffic controller (Scoot McNairy). Roman is rightfully wronged and seeks revenge of sorts. In other words, he wants to track the dude down for a confrontation. Along the way, Roman meets with lawyers John (Kevin Zegers) and James (Larry Sullivan) Gullick. The movie also includes Martin Donovan, Hannah Ware, Glenn Morshower, Lewis Pullman, Maggie Grace, Mariana Klaveno, and the fab flesh on Mr. Swarzenegger! Just 4 minutes into the pic, the superstar heats up the screen when he takes a steamy shower. The skintastic act shows off Arnold’s bare back, ageless ass, and girly shower cap!
