The highest grossing film of all time in Lithuania, Ashes in the Snow (2018) is based on the novel Between Shades of Grey but changed the title so the movie wouldn't be confused with Fifty Shades of Gray (2015). You won't make that mistake if you watch the movie because, needless to say, it's pretty far from an erotic drama about a kinky millionaire. Instead, the film takes place in 1941 Lithuania where sixteen-year-old Lina (Bel Powley) likes to spend her time drawing, hanging out with friends, and flirting with cute boys. Unfortunately, since her dad (Sam Hazeldine) is involved in the anti-Soviet resistance movement, the Soviets send her and her family to Siberian labor camps. She continues drawing what she sees, hoping to show the world what life is like there, and maybe even manage to get a message to her father that she's still alive. Unfortunately, what there is to draw is mostly just backbreaking labor and bitter conditions. From pervy guards to death and diseases, there's nothing fun about life in Siberia. Can she find the will to live via her art and find a way to escape or will she draw her last breath in a Siberian labor camp? Before that harsh tragedy is set into motion, there's a scene where we get to see the deliriously delicious derriere on naked Jonah Hauer-King when he skinny dips, and then runs nude through the woods as he chases the young lady who stole his clothes. Keep running, girl, and never give them back so we can see more of that rump! If only we'd gotten even more asses in Ashes!
