The Killing (2011-2014)

One of those series that got killed off by a cable channel only to be revived by Netflix, The Killing is an American remake of the hugely successful Danish crime drama Forbrydelsen. Airing on AMC from 2011 to 2013 before getting the ax and moving to Netflix for its final season, the show swaps Copenhagen for Seattle to tell the tale of Rosie Larsen's (Katie Findlay) death. Rosie was a seventeen-year-old girl who went missing, with her dad's credit card and a bloody sweater of hers turning up in a park where hookers and drug addicts all hang out.Not a good sign.The tombyish Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) is the detective assigned to the case, but she's already put in her two-week notice and taken a job in California. With no desire to give it her best effort, she's hoping her future replacement Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) can pick up the slack, but he's been doing narcotics investigations his whole career, not murders. Rosie's grieving parents Stan (Brent Sexton) and Mitch (Michelle Forbes) weren't all that scared when their little girl went missing, her best friend Sterling (Kacey Rohl) doesn't want to talk to the cops, and a city council member looking to become Seattle's mayor (Billy Campbell) really doesn't want the fact that some members of his campaign might be involved to tank his political aspirations. Needless to say, there are a whole lot of people that the short timer and the new guy need to investigate. There’s more drama than flesh, but that's not to say there's nothing pants-thrilling in The Killing. In fact, there's an all-male shower scene that's more than worthy of killing some time watching. Tyler Ross, Stephen Beaumon, and Levi Meaden are all in the shower together, with Levi and Sterling teasing some tush but Tyler absolutely delivering the goods via a clear shot of his seat meat. Sure, he's in the middle of a mental breakdown while being hazed by some military school bros, but that tight ass still left Mr. Man glazed! After seeing those teen dreams in The Killing, Mr. Man is going to have to skinvestigate them further.
