The Reflecting Skin (1990)

Mr. Man loves to reflect on The Reflecting Skin (1990). Not to be confused with the romantic drama Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) starring Marlon Brando, this horror flick features Viggo Mortensen. Under the pen and direction of Philip Ridley, the pic mixes surrealism with symbolism as it blends the drama, comedy, period piece and monster genres into one big fantasy. Set in the 1950s, this atmospheric movie centers around the Dove family. They include a loving wife and mother named Ruth (Sheila Moore), her detached husband Luke Dove (Duncan Fraser), their eldest son Cameron Dove (Mortensen) and his eight-year-old brother Seth Dove (Jeremy Cooper). After getting his hands on his dad’s collection of horror magazines, young Seth becomes convinced that the fair-haired neighbor Dolphin Blue (Lindsay Duncan) is a vampire. When big bro Cameron returns home early from his military tour, he examines Dolphin from a closer range. In other words, we get to see Viggo’s sexy body while his character is seduced by the blonde next door. Whether she’s a vampire or just a vampy lady depends on how well she sucks. Of course, all we get to witness is Ms. Duncan unbuttoning Mr. Mortensen’s shirt. The skintastic act reveals his hairy chest. Talk about adding thrills to this thriller! Luckily for us, their embrace ends with Viggo lying naked in Lindsay’s arms. The sexy position showcases the nude dude’s bare back as well as his big ass. Needless to say, we could reflect on Viggo’s skin all day!
