The Revenant (2016)

We knew Leonardo di Caprio was destined to win an Oscar eventually, but we had no idea it would be for a film so steeped in physical pain (and relatively few words) quite like The Revenant. In this gritty adventure drama, Leo plays fur trapper and fronteirsman Hugh Glass, who is attacked by a bear and abandoned by his comrades. Left for dead in the bone-rattling cold of winter, he has to find his way home all while surviving attacks forged by the Native Americans. It's brutal—Leo sleeps in a warm animal carcass at one point, but at least he bares his tight butt—but certainly worthy of his long-awaited award. Somehow, in the bleak and unforgiving cold, a brave (uncredited) penis makes its presence known before its owner collapses. Always a silver lining, eh?
