The Thicket (2024)

The Thicket offers a modern twist on the classic Western tale, starring Peter Dinklage as a bounty hunter named Reginald who enlists a ragtag team of criminals to take down an evildoer who kidnaps a young man named Jack's (Levon Hawke) sister. What makes The Thicket noteworthy is that the evildoer is a non-gender conforming villain played by Juliette Lewis. It's rare for a Western to feature anyone on the LGBTQIA spectrum, so this is a groundbreaking move that went largely underappreciated upon the release of The Thicket. We wish that any of the actor here put the "thick" in Thicket, but sadly all the skin we have is from Levon Hawke - Maya Hawke's sister and the son of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.
