Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) is the fourth film headlined by the titular Asgardian god played by Australian star Chris Hemsworth. Director and co-writer Taika Waititi returns from helming the last entry, Thor: Ragnarok (2017), to tell us a tale of Thor facing both the existential threat of a loveless life and the literal threat posed by a villain known as Gorr (Christian Bale) the God Butcher. Luckily, the blonde hunk has help from two badass women: Asgardian ruler Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and his former love interest Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who is wielding a reforged Mjolnir thanks to overcoming her battle with cancer. In addition to bringing back the Guardians of the Galaxy gang (Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, and Vin Diesel), the action pic introduces deities such as Bast (Akosia Sabet), Dionysus (Simon Russell Beale), Jademurai (Kuni Hashimoto), Minerva (Carmen Foon) and Rapu (Jonathan Brugh). Best of all, Zeus (Russell Crowe) uses his powers to strip Hemsworth’s god of thunder nude in front of a crowd. As such, this superhero movie is both a box office hit and a super spank bank fave! No wonder its lead was named Male Movie Star of 2022 at the People’s Choice Awards. Heaven knows Mr. Hemsworth earned a statuette in Mr. Man’s pants! Despite the PG-13 rating, this Marvel installment is a bit racy since it includes a nice shot of Chris’s muscular buns. In other words, Thor truly brings the thunder ... from down under!
