Arsène Lupin (2004)

The French crime-adventure Arsène Lupin (2004) follows the titular character (Romain Duris) from his necklace-stealing childhood, through the death of his thieving father, and into his later years when he crosses paths with Joséphine, the Countess of Cagliostro (Kristin Scott Thomas), a strange lady who leads him to believe that she is immortal and employs the use of a hypnotic drug to enslave people. It looks like the criminal apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and Arsène prides himself on being a master thief and pickpocket. He’s going to have to use his thieving skills to gather three crucifixes to unfold the mystery of a lost treasure, before Joséphine and a secret society beat him to it.
