Based on the memoirs of her husband, Iris follows the writer through her exciting youth, acclaimed professional career, and her ultimate decline in heath as she battles Alzheimer’s disease. Kate Winslet plays the young Iris, while Judi Dench steps in to play her in later years. Considering the praise heaped on this drama, it’s not surprising that it garnered a best supporting actor Oscar win for Jim Broadbent. Does it hurt that Iris shows Hugh Bonneville’s buns as he goes skinny dipping in a lake? Probably not! Iris he would show some frontal!
