Becks letzter Sommer (2015)

Comedy, drama, music and nudity come together in Becks letzter Sommer (2015), a German movie about a jaded teacher who finds inspiration in one of his talented students. Think Bad Teacher (2011) meets Mr. Holland’s Opus (1995). Based on a book by Benedict Wells, this foreign film follows Robert Beck (Christian Ulmen). Once upon a time, he was an aspiring musician but wound up in education due to his inability to support himself solely on his craft. Mr. Beck’s sense of longing and despair is only exacerbated when his relationship with his girlfriend gets rocky. But after he notices an exceptionally talented student in one of his classes, Robert sees an opportunity to leave the classroom for good. As the tale touches on humorous and heartfelt moments, we meet Anna Lind (Anna Lena Klenke), Holger Gersch (Fabian Hinrichs) and Rauli Kantas (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart). Under the direction of Frieder Wittich (who co-wrote the screenplay), the pic also includes Friederike Becht, Lucas Reiber, Rainer Reiners, and the skin on Eugene Soel Boateng. As Charlie Aguobe, the latter actor heats up the screen when he exposes his ebony T&A in the locker room. If that’s not arousing enough, the same scene includes a full frontal view of Rektor Dieter Heym (Ernst Stötzner). All it takes is one look at his alabaster flesh to realize Ernst is packing a big bratwurst! Translated to “Beck’s Last Summer,” this skinternational flick provides dialogue in English and German. But thanks to Mr. Stötzner’s sausage, Mr. Man is speechless!
