Umbilical Cord (2016)

From Psycho (1960) and The Manchurian Candidate (1962) to The Waterboy (1998) and Cyrus (2010), it’s clear that mama’s boys make good topics for movies. That’s because, for some men, it’s difficult to cut the apron strings. No wonder Dor Shlosberg wrote and directed the Israeli dramedy Umbilical Cord (2016). Also known as Hevel HaTabur, this foreign flick follows the fragile relationship between a 30-year-old refusing to grow up and his mother who is struggling to keep her son all to herself. As such, mommy does almost anything to keep her baby boy satisfied. Where is Dr. Freud when you need him? At 24 minutes, Umbilical Cord is considered to be a short film, but that doesn’t mean it can’t make you long in the shorts. This is especially true when it comes to a certain nude dude in the cast. The amusing movie features Yonatan Barak, Lena Chaplin, Na’ama Shapira, and the skin on Johannes Molders. When the latter actor gets pulled out of the shower, he shows off his naked rump! If that’s not titillating enough, the skintastic stud also goes full frontal. Quick, grab a towel! Yes, the wet Mr. Molders will make a splash in your pants when you glance at his abs, sack and shaft! Granted, the action is fast so you may want to hit slow motion or pause. In other words, keep one hand on the remote. What you do with your other hand is up to you. Just remember to say “Toda raba lekha!”
