Bob Balaban is someone you will definitely recognize. This Chicago-born native who has been pivotal to Hollywood ever since the late 1960s. It was not hard for him to break in considering his own uncle, Barney Balaban, was the president of Paramount Pictures for three decades. He studied acting at HB Studio in Greenwich Village in the sixties before doing a few films such as Me, Natalie (1969) and the Oscar-winning movie Midnight Cowboy (1969). Martin, Girls (2013) as Dr. Rice, and Broad City as Ilana's dad just to name a few. He has been in everything and he has even dipped his toes into directing and writing. He is best known for his glasses, serious demeanor, and dry sense-of-humor that make him pair especially well with Christopher Guest mockumentaries.
