Method actor Daniel Day-Lewis is known for really getting into character. If only he’d get into us too! After training at the Bristol Old Vic, the London lad landed small but key parts in the period pieces The Bounty (1984) and A Room with a View (1986). He received critical acclaim for portraying a gay street punk in My Beautiful Laundrette (1985). Under the direction of Stephen Frears, the sexy thespian revealed his chest and homosexual preferences for Gordon Warnecke! Daniel then played it straight (and shirtless) while seducing Juliette Binoche in The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988). Although he received an Oscar for embodying Christy Brown in My Left Foot (1989), Daniel won our hearts for Stars and Bars (1988) since the R-rated comedy showcases his sense of humor as well as his full frontal nudity! If that’s not arousing enough, Danny bares his butt! With the nineties came more costume dramas: Michael Mann’s The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence (1993). But we prefer seeing Mr. Day-Lewis sans costume. Thankfully, Jim Sheridan’s In the Name of the Father (1993) includes Dan’s naked T&A. Perhaps that’s why the skintastic actor scored another Academy Award nomination. Two more Oscar wins followed with Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (2012) and Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood (2004). Daniel re-teamed with PTA for his swan song Phantom Thread (2017). But not before starring in The Ballad of Jack and Rose (2005) by wife Rebecca Miller. What a lucky girl!
