Set among the South Asian immigrant population of London, the magical realist drama My Beautiful Laundrette (1985) tells the story of Omar (Gordon Warnecke), a young Pakistani from a wealthy family who’s running his uncle’s Laundromat with the help of a lower-class gay punk named Johnny (Daniel Day-Lewis). The guys get shirtless to make out in the back of the Laundrette, but unfortunately Daniel Day’s method for this flick doesn’t include showing off the little Lewis. It’ll be a great Day when Daniel decides to give us his Genitalberg Undress, but until then there’s no goodie shots for any men. Such a shame!
