Cry Freedom (1987)

Cry Freedom (1987) is the true story of South African writer Donald Woods (Kevin Kline) and activist Steven Bilko (Denzel Washington). Woods had written many pieces that were critical of Bilko and his politics, but after meeting him, his opinion changed and the two men became friendly. That friendship draws the unwanted attention of the government.  When Bilko dies in police custody, Woods investigates and writes a book, but the only way to get his work published is to escape the country.

At first you’ll be crying for more freedom from clothes during this fine film.  Both Washington and Kline give great performances, despite the fact that they have their clothes on.  Let yourself be seduced by the story and let your imagination run wild.
