David Cromer is a very well-known person in the theater world. He is an actor and a director who hails from the Chicagoland suburb of Skokie, Illinois, and he was quickly able to get involved in the world-famous Chicago theater scene as a result. He actually dropped out of high school, got his GED, and attended Columbia College. School wasn't for him, but theater and art definitely were. This openly gay icon has numerous Joseph Jefferson Awards for directing and was also a MacArthur Fellow in 2010. So he made his way up in the world! He acted and directed throughout the city and became very famous for directing award-winning plays like Come Back Little Sheba, Angels in America: Parts I and II, Picnic, The House of Blue Leaves, A Streetcar Named Desire, and very famously Our Town at the Hypocrites Theatre (the "one with the bacon" which is what theater people know if better as). That rendition of Our Town was so famous that it went to Broadway! He also enjoys acting and he has been acting up a storm ever since 2012 where he made his on-camera debut in the series The Newsroom. He then played Donnie Caan in Billions, Glenn Twitchell in The Meyerowitz Stories, David Axelrod in The Loudest Voice. His best work yet is in the TV series American Rust where he plays a businessman in an episode.
