Dexter: New Blood (2021)

Jump to 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing and let us introduce you to mild mannered shopkeeper, Jim Lindsay (Michael C. Hall).  Jim has been a swell guy in the humble little burg in upstate New York called Iron Lake, where he helps the locals source hunting goods and supplies for deer season.  Selling knives, guns, propellants, camouflage, rope, pretty much anything the outdoorsy type needs to successfully take down some prey.  Jim even has a lovely little relationship going on with his girlfriend, Angela (Julia Jones), the chief of police for their little town.  What absolutely no one knows about Jim Lindsay though is that him and prolific serial killer Dexter Morgan will never be in the same room, at the same time, if you know what we mean!  Jim is the assumed identity of Dexter, who is so far removed from Miami now that he doesn't even recognize himself most days.  It's hard for that itch to go away for Dexter though, he can only play mild mannered so long before that delicious blood lust comes seeping back into the peripherals of his perfectly curated fake life in New York.  Things especially boil over when town douche/spoiled rich kid, Matt Caldwell (Steve M. Robertson) comes into his shop to use daddy's money to buy an assault rifle.  When Dexter begins to hear more and more about Matt's exploits that his daddy paid plenty of money to cover up, including a deadly boat accident, Jim Lindsay steps aside and Dexter comes back with a vengeance! Get ready for Dexter: New Blood, because the snow of upstate New York is going to run red with it and probably give us plenty of skin showing along the way much like the original series!
