Disappearing Acts (2000)

Based on the Terry McMillian novel of the same name, the HBO film Disappearing Acts (2000) is a typical Hollywood love story. Zora Banks (Sanaa Lathan) is a brokenhearted schoolteacher and aspiring singer hoping to become a star. Franklin Swift (Wesley Snipes) is a construction worker and father, limping his way through a divorce, hoping to start his own business. When Zora and Frank meet, it’s love at first sight, but as the months go by, things fall apart as each struggles to achieve their personal goals.
