Review

British madman Peter Greenaway is best known for his delightfully pervy The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989), but with Eisenstein in Guanajuato (2015), the director, who is getting up there in years, is very clearly demonstrating that he has not lost his edge. Elmer Bäck plays renowned Soviet silent film director Sergei Eisenstein, who, over the course of the film (during which he takes a trip to Mexico) discovers that he just might be a little more Ser-gay than he had thought. Bäck gives the performance of a lifetime, showing us every part of his body that he possibly could. We get leisurely looks at his nice cock in several scenes, including when he’s jumping around in a bed and stripping off his clothes, and then even a close-up shot of his member (complete with bush!) as he takes a shower. In one scene, Luis Alberti shows up and we see him stroking his erect rod before sticking it in Bäck’s backside, at which point the film briefly turns into Alberti in Eisenstein. The two have a fun nude pillow fight later and with that we won’t hesitate in calling this film an instant classic!
