Witty, pretty Griffin Dunne comes from a family of esteemed writers, including his journalist father Dominick Dunne and author aunt Joan Didion. In fact, Griffin directed Joan in the Netflix documentary The Center Will Not Hold (2017). Yet it’s Mr. Dunne’s work onscreen that most interests Mr. Man. The dark-haired actor first piqued our interest (among other things) when he popped up in the humorous horror flick An American Werewolf in London (1981). Parts in the John Sayles romance Baby It’s You, Amy Heckerling’s crime comedy Johnny Dangerously (1984), Sidney Lumet’s family drama Running on Empty (1988), and Lasse Hallström’s romantic dramedy Once Around (1991) followed. Griffin even starred opposite Madonna at the height of her popularity in the rom-com flop Who’s That Girl (1987). But his most memorable role is as the lead in Martin Scorsese’s underrated masterpiece After Hours (1985), for which Dunne was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy. In addition to lending his talents to movies (Dallas Buyers Club, The French Dispatch, Ocean’s 8, Quiz Show), Griffin can also be seen on TV (Alias, Damages, Goliath, House of Lies, Law & Order, This Is Us, Trust Me). Check him (and his bare chest and nude booty) out on Amazon’s aptly-named comedy series I Love Dick. (2016-2017). At the risk of repeating himself, Dunne displayed his naked T&A again — this time during a 2018 guest spot on the Bravo series Imposters. It seems the older Griffin gets, the more he sheds his threads!
