Handsome: A Netflix Mystery Movie (2017)

Mr. Man doesn’t want to imply that the entertainment industry is shallow, but good looks definitely go a long way to secure producers with deep pockets. Why, just mentioning the word “handsome” in a title is enough to suck audiences in to ogle alluring actors. Take Randolph Scott in High, Wide and Handsome (1937); Cesar Romero in Tall, Dark and Handsome (1941); Mickey Rourke in Johnny Handsome (1989); Jamey Sheridan in Handsome Harry (2009); Andrew Scott in Handsome Devil (2016); and Steven Weber in Handsome: A Netflix Mystery Movie (2017). The latter flick is a small screen comedy that features Jeff Garlin as Gene Handsome, a Los Angeles homicide detective who bumbles his way through life as he attempts to solve the city’s sickest crimes. From the looks of things, it appears the dude is better off doing this than solving the problems in his everyday life. While he tries to figure out who offed his babysitter Heather Dromgoole (Hailee Keanna Lautenbach), we encounter Detective Fleur Scozzari (Natasha Lyonne), Lieutenant Tucker (Amy Sedaris), Detective Gunnerand (Chris Redd), and Esta (Leah Remini). Of course, there’s no mystery over who is the sexiest performer in this sleuth spoof. Mr. Weber proves to be a handsome hunk when he struts his stuff in swimming trunks by the pool. In fact, all it takes is one glance at his wet chest to make viewers splash their pants! To put it in simple terms, as Steven plays sexy Talbert Bacorn, chances are you’ll be playing with yourself!
