Biography

While he never became a quote unquote movie star. if you're a true cinephile, you know Lance Henriksen. And how couldn't you? Just look at the lineup of movies he's been in. But Lance didn't start out in Hollywood. Before he got his start in the movies, Lance had an ultra-rough childhood, including being kicked out of home as a twelve year old and not being able to read until he was thirty. He joined the Navy at fifteen, and didn't really get going in the acting world until starring as a PTSD suffering military man in 1972's It Ain't Easy. It ain't easy picking our favorite of Lance's legendary roles. Maybe FBI Agent Murphy in Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Detective Hal Vukovich in The Terminator (1984), Bishop the android in Aliens (1986), convenience store owner turned demon conjurer Ed Harley in Pumpkinhead (1988), or the famous trick shot artist Ace Hanlon in The Quick and the Dead (1995)? With over 250 film credits, there are way too many good ones to count! Despite all of this exposure, he’s barely exposed much of his body over the years, but we’ll never forget seeing his ripped, badass shirtless bod in one scene in the Brian Bosworth action film Stone Cold (1991). Lance plays Chains Cooper, the film's main villain who shows us why women, and plenty of dudes, love the bad boys. Lance never went no pants, but we did see his abs again as Torquemada in The Pit and the Pendulum (1991), who we see strip down and ask to be flogged. Although he was Totemist leader Penrith on Into the Badlands and FBI Secretary Totentatz on Big Dogs, Lance hasn't been making many big budget movies anymore. Instead, Lance is in all sorts of bad B movies like Exorcism at 60,000 Feet (2019), Alpha Rift (2021) and The Artifice Girl (2022). Even though they're not great, tons of them are rated R. So, we’re still hoping to see Lance’s lance on screen someday!
