Leather (2013)

Great Nudity!

Review

Sure, cinema is a visual and audio medium. But big and small screen talent lean into tactile senses with fabric-friendly titles. Take Tab Hunter in Polyester (1981), Anthony Higgins in Lace (1984), Kyle MacLachlan in Blue Velvet (1986), Matt Battaglia in Chantilly Lace (1993), Jonathan Rhys Meyers in Velvet Goldmine (1998), Rupert Penry-Jones in Silk (2011-2014), Mads Abildgaard in Spandex (2019), and Zanjoe Marudo in Dirty Linen (2023). Of course, we can’t forget to mention Chris Graham in the romantic gay film Leather (2013), not to be confused with romantic gay film Leather Jacket Love Story (1997) starring Sean Tataryn. Under the direction of Patrick McGuinn, this indie flick follows Birch (Graham). The young man lives in the Catskill Mountains with an older guy who dies. As such, the late dude’s estranged son Andrew (Andrew Glaszek) comes to assess the estate with his city boyfriend Kyle (Jeremy Neal). Since Andrew and Birch knew each other as kids, seeing each other again stirs up past feelings. Needless to say, the two fellows rekindle their friendship. And when we say rekindle, we mean this movie gets unexpectedly hot. After going for a backwoods skinny-dip, Mr. Glaszek and Mr. Graham sunbathe their shafts in the grass. Later, they make out while wearing wreaths of ivy before letting their pale cheeks shine in the moonlight. When the two become one by the fireside, they flash their collective buns and junk. The pace may start out languidly, but Leather will soon have you polishing something else entirely!
