Film fans know Malcolm McDowell has a wide… range which he’s repeatedly revealed throughout his long career. Through the years, he’s appeared in big hits (Halloween, Blue Thunder, Star Trek Generations, Easy A), lesser-known films (Jezebel’s Kiss, Evilenko), and Oscar favorites (The Artist, Bombshell). Malcolm played Mick Travis in Lindsay Anderson’s trilogy of hip flicks: if.... (1968), O Lucky Man! (1973), and Britannia Hospital (1982) which collectively showcased the newcomer’s full frontal nudity and bare booty! Although McDowell has had many revealing roles, he’ll be forever synonymous with the charismatic, sociopathic, eyeliner-wearing “ultraviolent” Alex DeLarge in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange (1971). The dystopian classic has Malcolm baring his pecs, peen, bush, balls and butt in various scenes, from enjoying a gleesome threesome via the “William Tell Overture” to committing nonconsensual coitus while belting out “Singin’ in the Rain.” After starring in Royal Flash (1975) and Time After Time (1979), Malcolm took on the title role in Caligula (1979) and took off his toga. Written by Gore Vidal and directed by Tinto Brass, the porn period piece features Helen Mirren, Peter O’Toole, and a bottomless Malcolm who loses his top for Guido Mannari! McDowell discusses his part (or should we say parts?) in the documentary Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies (2020). But not before he exposed his glutes in Gulag (1985). Of course, we can’t forget when the hardworking human showed off his animal instincts as well as his abs, ass, shaft and sack in Cat People (1982). Meowza!
