Mektoub, My Love: Canto Uno (2018)

Mektoub, My Love: Canto Uno (2018) is a mouthful! In fact, this skinternational pic was such a hit, it spawned the sequel Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo (2019). Based on “La Blessure, la vraie” (1986) by novelist François Bégaudeau, the coming of age story centers around a teen named Amin (Shaïn Boumedine) who spends a summer vacationing in the south of France back in 1994. As you can guess, the young man is looking for romance. Will he find it with Camélia (Hafsia Herzi), Céline (Lou Luttiau), Charlotte (Alexia Chardard), Kamel (Kamel Saadi), Lamia (Lydia Bouchali Zemour), Mel (Meleinda Elasfour), Ophélie (Ophélie Bau), Sieme (Sième Miladi), or La jeune fille russe (Karina Kolokolchykova)? And, more importantly, will we see some skin? Fortunately, the answer to the latter question is oui! In a sexy scene, Tony (Salim Kechiouche) sheds his threads to get busy with his lady love in the shower. The skintastic act showcases the nude dude’s bare back and booty. Alas, he doesn’t serve up his baguette with his steamy buns. But as an extra bone-us, we do get to see Salim slip into his briefs. The panty-flash is fast so keep one hand on the pause button. What you do with your other hand is totally up to you — just remember to say “Merci beaucoup!” Under the direction of Tunisian-French filmmaker Abdellatif Kechiche (who co-wrote the screenplay with Tunisian actress Ghalia Lacroix), this foreign flick features dialogue in Arabic, English and French. Yet Monsieur Kechiouche’s naked T&A needs no translation!
