It's always a treat to dip back into a brilliant director's older movies, years and years later, mostly because you get to see the early in life tone, skills, and storytelling that originated their work.  For multiple Academy Award Winner Bong Joon Ho and his 2003 genius crime thriller Memories of Murder, you are going to understand just how great of a director he truly is!  If you didn't know, Bong Joon Ho basically swept the 2020 Oscars with his tense master-class flick on Korean classism and manipulation with Parasite (2019), and Memories of Murder (2003) proves that he's been at it for quite some time.  The story centers on a small village in South Korea where multiple young girls are found beaten, raped, and murdered... All in very similar ways.  As two clunky detectives Park Doo-man (Kang-Ho Song) and Cho-Yong Hoo (Roe-ha Kim) try their best to determine who might be murdering people in their little town, they resort to classic police brutality to get answers.  They beat up their suspects, torture them, and try to coerce confessions, but it just leaves them with practically no results and a bunch more questions from higher-ups about their ability to do the job!  When they bring in a young hotshot detective from Seoul to help out, they begin to uncover more about this serial killer than they ever though possible.  Lead actor Kang-Ho Song has a simple sex scene and spends some time in his briefs in this one, but you'll probably recognize his sexy mug as the lead of Parasite (2019) as well!  This is definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it already and just sit back and enjoy the sexy from a couple of the Korean boy toys in Bong Joon Ho's early masterpiece!
